Scholarships, Medals and Awards Offered by Assam Agriculture University
State Merit Scholarships are awarded by the University to the eligible students. Such scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria as notified. Besides, there is provision of support in the form of monthly mess dues for the economically backward students admitted in AAU. The students desiring to avail financial support under this scheme shall have to apply to the Registrar through respective Deans/Assoc. Dean on or before October in prescribed forms.
AAU Award/Continuation of Scholarship
Subject to the provision of regulation, award/continuation of scholarship shall depend on the maintenance of overall satisfactory progress in studies, regular attendance and good conduct of the student and on such other terms and conditions as laid down in the Regulations on Academic Matters as amended from time to time.
AAU Discontinuation of Scholarship
Award of scholarship of any kind shall be discontinued from the date, the awardee is placed on the academic or conduct probation, as per provisions of Regulations on Academic Matters as amended from time to time.
AAU Non-eligibility for award of Scholarship
Students on deputation receiving pay or deputation allowances and/or any other financial assistance from any source in the form of scholarship and foreign students shall not be eligible for award of any type of scholarships offered by the University.
AAU Other scholarships/ Fellowships
In addition to the University scholarships a good number of other scholarships/fellowships, are offered by the State Government, Central Government, ICAR, DBT, ITA, TAI, UGC, M/S Hemendra Prasad Barooah, M/S Bayer Crop Science Ltd., and other Agencies. However, a student shall be entitled to receive only one scholarship/Fellowship at a time.
AAU Medals and Cash Prizes
The University offers a number of Gold Medals/ Cash Prizes to the meritorious students of the University, subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria as indicated herein under:
Medals/ Cash Prize: University Gold MedalsDegree Programme: All Bachelor’s Degree Programmes
Eligibility: 1st position amongst the successful candidates with CGPA not less than 8.00 in 10.00 scale
Medals/ Cash Prize: Late Dr. Madhurima Chaliha Kalita Memorial Gold MedalDegree Programme: Best Graduate across the Faculties
Eligibility: 1st position amongst the successful candidates across the Faculties with CGPA not less than 8.00 in 10.00 scale
Medals/ Cash Prize: Dr. Satya Ranjan Barooah Cash PrizeDegree Programme: B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture
Eligibility: Highest GPA in the courses of Crop Management (Agronomy, Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering and Horticulture), i.e., general courses of the subjects with CGPA not less than 8.00 in 10.00 scale
Medals/ Cash Prize: Lakhipriya (Krishnai) Devi Memorial Cash PrizeDegree Programme: B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture
Eligibility: Highest CGPA in the courses of Crop Improvement (Biochemistry, ABT, Plant Breeding & Genetics and Crop Physiology) with CGPA not less than 8.00 in 10.00 scale
Medals/ Cash Prize: Dharmananda Das Memorial Silver Trophy together with a cash prize of Rs 20,000/-Degree Programme: B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture
Eligibility: Highest GPA in the courses of the Department of Tea Husbandry & Technology in the B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture degree programme

Eligibility: For securing the highest CGPA in 2nd/3rd/4th year classes in the B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture degree programme
