Bhattadev University

The people of the wider Bajali Sub-Division had long dreamed of Bhattadev University, Bajali, which came to be on June 24, 2019, with the appointment of Prof. Birinchi Kr. Das was the university's first vice-chancellor. The former Bajali College, which had an illustrious history spanning more than six decades and was regarded as one of the most prestigious educational establishments in the state of Assam, was refurbished to become the University. The Bhattadev University Act, 2017, which received approval from the Assam governor on October 16, 2017, founded the university. Bajali College worked hard to achieve academic excellence, and in 2016 the NAAC awarded it an "A" Grade for its second cycle of accreditation. The university is working hard and has made progress in several areas to position itself as one of India's prestigious universities, alongside Gauhati University, Tezpur University, and IIT Guwahati.

Admission and Eligibility Criteria

Honours Admission

Pass in Higher Secondary (10 + 2) or equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% marks in the subject opted for studying with Honours provided that the candidate has secured pass marks in each subject. The admissions will be given strictly on the basis of merit while giving due weightage to National / State-level reservation policy.

Postgraduate Admission

Bachelor’s degree with Honours / Major in the corresponding discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject provided that the candidate has passed each paper/course separately. Admissions will be based on marks secured in the Honours/Major subject.

Academic Session

Bhattadev University's academic session typically start in January for even semesters and in August for odd semesters.

Bhattadev University Examination

The test is typically administered in June and July for even semesters, and in November and December for odd semesters.

Bhattadev University Placement

Approximately 70% of the students were assigned to both core and non-core firms. Every year, a few firms come to the institution to visit, and the placement process begins well in advance of the fifth semester.
