State Eligibility Test North East (SET NE)
The State Level Eligibility Test North-East (SLET NE) or State Eligibility Test North East (SET NE) is test for appointment of Lecturers and Assistant Professors in the colleges and university departments of Universities based out of North East Indian states, i.e. Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. The candidates qualified in the SET are governed by the rules and regulations of recruitment of Assistant Professors of the Universities and Colleges as the case may be.
Eligibility for SET NE
General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC are eligible for this test. However, the scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Person with Disability (PWD) Category, the Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer who have secured atleast 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master degree or equivalent examination are eligible to appear in the Test.
There is no upper age limit for eligibility for applying for this Test.

SET NE Scheme
The SET NE Test consists of two papers. Only objective type questions are asked in both the papers in following format:
(a) Multiple Choice
(b) Matching
(c) Assertion and Reasoning
(d) True and False
Paper – I consists of general subjects, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It is primarily designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
Paper – II shall consist of 100 objective type questions based on the subject.
Each question carries 2 marks.
