Cotton University

Cotton College, the premier college of Assam and eastern India, has became a full-fledged university under the name Cotton University in January 2017 by an Act and merged Cotton College and Cotton College State University together.

The university is located in Panbazar area of Guwahati and caters the educational needs of students all over the northeast. Cotton University aims to become a world-class one, excelling in both research and teaching, developing knowledge and skills with an emphasis on this part of our country, providing broad-based education to students to take on the challenges of tomorrow via modern curricula, learning and assessment methods, upholding the highest ethical standards, and providing a clean, efficient and transparent administration.

Cotton University currently has a total of 27 departments within 5 faculties. The university has fully equipped laboratory facilities in all the science departments. The Library of the university has a broad collection of books, periodicals, journals and offers a healthy reading atmosphere to its students.

Placement

According to the NIRF report 2024 released by Cotton University, the median package offered during UG 3-year and PG 2-year placements 2023 stood at INR 5.15 LPA and INR 3.89 LPA, respectively. According to the report, 13 UG and 95 PG students were placed during Cotton University Placements 2022. The median Package offered to UG (3-year) students during placements 2022 stood at INR 5.34 LPA. For PG (2-year) and PG (3-year) courses, the median package offered during Cotton University placements 2022 was INR 3.62 LPA and INR 3.80 LPA, respectively.
