Girijananda Chowdhury University

The Assam government's Act No. XLVII of 2022 created Girijananda Chowdhury University as a State Private University operating under the auspices of the Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society, which was formed under the Societies Registration Act 1860. The Girijananda Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT) and the Girijananda Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (GIPS) took the initiative to establish Girijananda Chowdhury University with the goal of providing professional higher education with a socially conscious and philanthropic mindset. These colleges have established a reputation for providing high-quality professional education throughout the previous 16 years of their existence, as demonstrated by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accrediting a number of their programs and by the AICTE, DST, and other organisations awarding extramural funding to them.

Through the organisation of several seminars, pre-placement lectures, workshops, training programs, industrial visits, summer placements, and campus placements, the Training & Placement Cell plays a crucial role in creating a bridge between academics and business organisations.
