Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Guwahati

Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG) is an institution of National Importance under an Act of Parliament established on a PPP model. Currently, the temporary campus of IIITG is located near the Guwahati Railway Station. The private industry partners are Tata Consultancy Services,  Oil India Limited, 

Srei Infrastructure Finance Ltd. and Amtron Ltd. The IIIT Guwahati campus is located on a 67-acre plot, 4 km from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, on the National Highway. The building holds classrooms, labs, faculty rooms, seminar hall and administrative offices etc.

The IIIT Guwahati offers following programmes:

B.Tech seats are filled up through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) after qualifying JEE (Main). For M.Tech admissions a valid GATE score is required. For Ph.D programmes candidates are required GATE/NET/JRF, For details see entrance exams.

The Placement Cell of IIIT Guwahati is meeting point of students to recruiters. While students pursuing a course can apply for a 10 to 12 week Internship programme; students studying in the final can apply for a job. The placement cell invites companies, provides training to students and assists in the interview process. Both public funded and private companies visited IIIT Guwahati for recruitment of eligible human resources. As of April 30, 2024, IIIT Guwahati recorded 58.23% placements for the batch 2024. The highest and average package offered during IIIT Guwahati placements 2024 stood at INR 52 LPA and INR 14.88 LPA, respectively. Apart from this, 109 job offers have been made during IIIT Guwahati placements 2024 till April 30, 2024.
