Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University

Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University is a State University set up with a notification by the Govt. of Assam dated 24th May , 2011,of the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University Act, 2011, which has received assent of the Hon'ble Governor of Assam on 16th March ,2011.

The University is located in at Namati Village of Batahgila Mouza under Nalbari Revenue Circle of the district of Nalbari, Assam, India. It has a lush green campus of an area of 100 bighas of land allotted by the Govt. of Assam. The campus is easily accessible by both public and private transport. It is named after Kumar Bhaskar Varma, a great monarch of Assam (7th century A.D) was a patron of Sanskrit studies and during his rule Vedic culture and Sanskritic knowledge came to flourish in Assam.

The main objective of the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University is to impart education leading to graduate and post graduate degrees and research degrees viz. M.Phil. and Ph. D. in Sanskrit and research degrees only in Ancient Studies.

The University library can boast of a good collection of journals, reference books and text. The Students can avail the facilities to borrow books for a specified period after depositing a necessary caution money.

The University has established three schools viz., School of Sanskrit Studies, School of Ancient Studies and School of Humanities.

  2. M.A. (Master of Arts) in Sanskrit (Vedic Studies)
  3. Five years Integrated M.A. (Master of Arsts) course in Sanskrit

Candidates are required to apply online by registering and logging on to the University's website www.kbvsasun.ac.in. The application fees to be online by using the payment gateway.

Candidates can fill or edit entered data contained in the form for any number of times and save the data. However, the application form cannot be edited after the final submission.
