Medical Programmes Admission in Assam

Assam has many medical colleges and institutes of health sciences to offer Undergraduate and Postgraduate medical programmes. Here are admission details about medical courses and applied disciplines in Assam.

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S)

The 85% state quota seats are filled up through NEET-UG (State Merit List) followed by counseling and 15% seats by All India Counseling through NEET-UG (All India Merit List).

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.)

Selection: State quota seats are filled up through NEET-UG (State Merit List) followed by counseling and All India Quota seats are filled up by All India Counseling through NEET-UG (All India Merit List). The reserved NEC seats are filled up on recommendation by the NEC Head Quarter, Shillong.

Post Graduate Medical Programmes (M.D./M.S./Diploma)

State quota seats are filled on the basis of merit in the NEET-PG held every year. Last date of admission into the MD/MS course is 30th June which may be modified as per MCI direction, pending court cases related to admission process etc.

Master of Dental Surgery (M.D.S.)

State Quota seats are filled by candidates selected on the basis of merit in the NEET-PG held every year followed by counseling.

D.M./M.Ch.

Selection is done on the basis of merit in the entrance examination (NEET-SS) held every year followed by counseling. Last date of admission into the DM/MCH course is 30thSeptember.

D. Pharm

Selection: State quota seats are filled by candidates selected on the basis of merit in the entrance examination held every year followed by counseling.

B. Pharm

Selection: State quota seats are filled by candidates selected on the basis of merit in the entrance examination held every year followed by counseling.

B.Sc. Nursing

State quota seats are filled by candidates selected on the basis of merit in the entrance examination held every year followed by counseling. 15 seats are reserved for NEC candidates.

Diploma in Paramedical Sciences:

Seats are filled by candidates selected on the basis of merit as per marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Higher Secondary examination.

Paramedical courses at Regional Institute of Paramedical and Nursing Sciences (RIPANS), Aizawl /Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (RIPSAT), Agartala

15 Nos. of candidates are selected every year (for RIPANS) & 4 Nos. of candidates are selected every year (for RIPSAT) for admission into Bachelor Degree in different paramedical courses against the state quota seats. Candidates are selected on the basis of merit as per marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics & English in Higher Secondary examination depending on the course.
