State Eligibility Test (SET) for the recruitment of is conducted by SLET Commission, North East Region, Assam to provide lectureship or Junior Research Fellowship to the eligible candidates who wish to become an assistant professor or Lecturer in colleges, universities and other educational institutes in the state of Assam.
Assam SET Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must have successfully completed their Master Degree or other equivalent Degree with a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding up).
Reserved category applicants (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Person with Disability (PWB) category candidates should secure at least 50% marks (without rounding up) in Master Degree or equivalent exam.
Final (or 4th semester) applicants of their Master Degree Examination are also eligible.
Applicants are required to appear in the subjects of their Post Graduation only.

Assam SET Exam Pattern
The Assam SET will consist of two papers. All the two papers will have only objective type questions
of the following forms:
(a) Multiple Choice
(b) Matching
(c) Assertion and Reasoning
(d) True and False
Paper – I shall be of general subject, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Candidates are required to answer 50 Questions of 2 Marks each in 1 Hour. Maximum marks for Paper-I is 100.
Paper – II shall consist of 100 objective type questions based on the subject. Each question will carry 2 marks.There will be no negative marking. The test duration is 2 hours.
Note: The compensatory time provided to the visually impaired candidates and PWD candidates with writing disability in Paper-I is 20 minutes. Accordingly, there is provision of 20 minutes compensatory time in Paper - II
